Summary:
Diamondback is an independent oil and natural gas company headquartered in Midland, Texas focused on the acquisition, development, exploration, and exploitation of unconventional, onshore oil and natural gas reserves in the Permian Basin in West Texas.
Diamondback's activities are primarily focused on the horizontal exploitation of multiple intervals within the Wolfcamp, Spraberry, Clearfork, Bone Spring, and Cline formations.
Internship Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assist Landmen in all phases of Land work required to have wells drilled and completed.
Research and analyze leases, operating agreements, term assignments, and other contracts to determine obligations.
Confirm ownership in operated and non-operated wells to determine options for well proposals.
Review title opinions and perform title curative responsibilities.
Learn what is required of field Landmen by researching courthouse records and updating ownership reports.
Assist in surface use agreements and negotiations with landowners.
Work with other disciplines within the company to gain a better understanding of how asset teams and other disciplines function.
At project completion, the intern will demonstrate his procedure and results in a culminating presentation in front of Diamondback upper management (CEO, COO, EVP, SVP, and VP).
The intern will have the opportunity to participate in Diamondback philanthropic endeavors that help the immediate community of Midland-Odessa.
Required
Qualifications:
Pursuing a BS or higher in Energy Management/Energy Commerce.
Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
GPA of 3.
20 or higher preferred.
Extracurricular achievements or prior work experience is desirable.
Students who are members of AAPL will be preferred.
Must be willing to work in Midland TX, for the duration of the internship Recommended Skills Analytical Communication Negotiation Natural Gas Energy Management Research Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
